Managed support backed by measurable service
Simtech has supported businesses since 2009 and delivers all helpdesk services through its own technical team.
MORE THAN A HELPDESK
What is managed IT support?
Managed IT support gives your business an external team responsible for supporting employees and managing agreed parts of the technology environment for a predictable monthly fee.
Instead of contacting different suppliers whenever a problem occurs, your employees contact Simtech.
We investigate the issue, provide remote assistance, administer Microsoft 365, maintain security and monitoring tools, manage starters and leavers and coordinate relevant technology suppliers.
Behind the support desk, we also review risks, identify recurring issues and help your business plan future technology improvements.
Managed IT support combines day-to-day employee assistance with the ongoing administration, maintenance, security and oversight of business technology.
BUILT FOR SMALL AND GROWING ORGANISATIONS
Is fully managed IT support right for your business?
Simtech’s managed IT service is designed primarily for businesses with approximately 10–75 employees.
It is particularly suitable where technology is commercially important but the organisation does not have a complete internal IT department.
You do not have an internal IT team
Technology responsibility is currently shared between directors, office managers and employees whose main role lies elsewhere.
You have outgrown reactive support
Your business needs more than an engineer who responds only after something has stopped working.
Your current provider is underperforming
Employees wait too long for assistance, communication is poor or nobody appears accountable for the wider environment.
Your internal IT employee has left
You need to replace lost technical capability without immediately recruiting another full-time employee.
The business is growing
More employees, devices, systems and locations are creating additional support and security demands.
You need predictable costs
You want a defined monthly service rather than unpredictable hourly support invoices.
Typical Simtech managed customer
Smaller businesses may also be accepted where the service and commercial fit are appropriate.
Organisations with an internal IT team can use Simtech’s co-managed IT service.
ONE COMPLETE MONTHLY SERVICE
What does Simtech Managed IT include?
The service brings together employee support, Microsoft 365 administration, device management, cybersecurity, backup and technology planning.
The exact scope is confirmed during the proposal process, but a standard managed agreement includes the following.
Unlimited Remote IT Support
Employees can contact Simtech by telephone or email during normal support hours whenever they experience a covered technology problem.
Telephone Support
Users speak directly with Simtech’s own team rather than an outsourced or anonymous call centre.
User And Device Support
We assist with approved computers, user accounts, applications, access problems and other supported business technology.
Microsoft Administration
We manage everyday Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, permissions, licence assignment and service configuration.
New-Starter Setup
We create agreed accounts, assign licences and prepare access so new employees can begin work with less disruption.
Leaver Administration
We disable access, protect business data and make agreed changes when employees leave.
Device Monitoring
Supported computers are monitored so Simtech can identify relevant faults, health issues and security concerns.
Patch Management
We deploy and oversee approved operating-system and application updates to reduce avoidable security and reliability risks.
Antivirus Protection
Supported devices receive centrally managed antivirus protection.
Endpoint Detection & Response
EDR provides additional monitoring and response capability against modern endpoint threats.
Microsoft 365 SaaS Backup
Microsoft 365 data is protected using a separate backup platform covering agreed cloud data.
Network & Wi-Fi Support
We troubleshoot and support agreed network and wireless equipment used by the business.
Technology-Supplier Liaison
We coordinate with relevant third-party technology suppliers when their involvement is required to resolve an issue.
IT & Cybersecurity Review
Formal reviews identify risks, recurring issues, upcoming investment needs and practical improvements.
DIRECT SUPPORT FOR YOUR PEOPLE
Everyday IT help without passing problems around the business
Your employees should not need to know which supplier manages each system or which internal person understands a particular device.
They contact Simtech and our team investigates the issue, resolves it where possible and coordinates other suppliers where necessary.
Employees may contact Simtech for help with:
Support is delivered by Simtech’s own technical team. It is not transferred to an outsourced helpdesk.
PROACTIVE MANAGEMENT
The most important work is not always visible to employees
Responsive support is essential, but a managed IT service should do more than resolve tickets.
Behind the scenes, Simtech maintains the agreed tools, systems and processes that help the technology environment remain manageable, secure and documented.
Device Oversight
We monitor supported devices and maintain the tools used to manage, protect and assist them.
Microsoft 365 Administration
We oversee agreed user, licence, permission and configuration responsibilities.
Security-Tool Management
We manage the endpoint protection, monitoring and other agreed security services included in the plan.
Backup Oversight
We monitor the operation of the included Microsoft 365 SaaS backup service and investigate relevant alerts.
Account Administration
We maintain agreed user access and support starter, mover and leaver processes.
Supplier Coordination
We liaise with internet, software, hardware and other technology providers where agreed and necessary.
Documentation
We maintain relevant technical and administrative information about the supported environment.
Improvement Planning
We identify recurring problems, avoidable risks and future requirements for discussion during formal reviews.

PREDICTABLE MONTHLY PRICING
How much does managed IT support cost?
Simtech prices managed IT support according to the number of supported users.
This allows the monthly service to scale as employees join or leave and provides clearer cost forecasting than purely hourly support.
Indicative pricing
Managed IT
From £85 per supported user per month.
Managed IT Complete
From £98 per supported user per month.
Minimum monthly charge
A minimum monthly service charge applies.
This allows Simtech to provide the necessary support capability, administration and management even where an organisation has a small number of users.
Onboarding
Onboarding is normally charged at the equivalent of one month’s managed-service fee.
The final cost depends on the number of users, devices, locations and the condition of the existing environment.
Separately itemised costs
The following are not included in the per-user managed-service price unless specifically stated:
Pricing reassurance
Exact pricing is confirmed after a short discovery conversation.
You will receive a clearly itemised proposal showing the monthly service, software licences, onboarding and any separately identified project work.
MICROSOFT 365 MANAGEMENT
Everyday administration without placing the burden on your employees
Microsoft 365 is central to the day-to-day operation of many businesses, but its administration is often handled informally.
Simtech takes responsibility for agreed user, licence, access and support tasks as part of the managed IT service.
Included Microsoft 365 responsibilities
Licensing statement
Microsoft 365 subscriptions are selected according to each user’s requirements and invoiced separately.
Simtech generally recommends Microsoft 365 Business Premium for normal office-based users with managed devices where its security and device-management capabilities are appropriate.
Other licence types may be recommended for frontline, shared, occasional or specialist users.
SECURITY BUILT INTO SUPPORT
Managed IT and cybersecurity should work together
Employees need responsive support, but the devices and accounts they use must also be protected and maintained.
Simtech includes core cybersecurity controls within both managed IT plans rather than treating security as an unrelated add-on.
Included controls
Additional cybersecurity services are available where the organisation needs deeper assessment, certification support, security improvement or Fractional CISO leadership.
A SIMPLE SUPPORT EXPERIENCE
From employee request to ongoing improvement

Employees contact Simtech
Users telephone or email our own support team during normal support hours.

We assess the request
A technician reviews the issue, gathers the necessary information and determines the appropriate next action.

We resolve it remotely where possible
Most covered problems can be investigated and resolved through remote support.

We coordinate other suppliers when needed
Where an internet, software, hardware or other supplier must become involved, Simtech assists with the agreed coordination.

We attend site where appropriate
On-site support is available separately under Managed IT and included for qualifying incidents under Managed IT Complete.

We review the wider environment
Recurring issues, risks and upcoming requirements are considered as part of the ongoing service and formal planning reviews.
CLEAR SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
When and how support is provided
Support Hours
Standard support is available:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
Excluding relevant public holidays.
Contact methods
Managed users can request support by:
Telephone 0330 223 5120
Email support@simtech-it.com
Initial-response target
Managed customers receive a four-business-hour initial-response target.
Simtech’s actual average response during the latest reporting period was under one hour.
Important clarification
An initial response confirms that the request has been reviewed and action has begun.
It is not a guarantee that every issue will be completely resolved within four hours, as resolution depends on the nature of the problem, third-party involvement and the availability of replacement equipment or specialist resources.
Out-of-hours support
Out-of-hours support is not included as standard.
Where out-of-hours work is required for a planned project or change, it may be arranged and quoted separately.
A CONTROLLED START
How Simtech takes responsibility for your IT support
The quality of the ongoing service depends on a structured onboarding process.
Before taking full responsibility, Simtech needs to understand the existing environment, obtain the necessary access and deploy the tools used to support and protect it.
Onboarding stages

Discovery
We confirm users, devices, locations, Microsoft 365 arrangements, key suppliers and the current support model.

Existing-provider handover
Where another IT provider is involved, we identify the information and administrative access that must be transferred.

Technical assessment
We review the supported environment and identify immediate faults, security issues or unsupported systems.

Tool deployment
We install and configure the agreed monitoring, support, backup and security tools.

Documentation
We record relevant technical, supplier and administrative information.

User introduction
Employees receive clear instructions explaining how and when to contact Simtech.

Service commencement
Once the required access, tools and information are in place, Simtech begins providing the agreed managed service.
Onboarding qualification
Existing problems, outdated infrastructure, major security weaknesses and migration work may require additional remediation before or during onboarding.
Any material additional work will be explained and quoted separately.
ALREADY HAVE AN IT COMPANY?
A structured way to switch IT support provider
Businesses often delay changing IT provider because they fear disruption, lost access or an uncooperative handover.
Simtech reduces that risk through a documented transition process.
We identify the information and permissions required, coordinate the technical handover and deploy our support and security tools before assuming full responsibility.
Common reasons businesses switch
Confidentiality reassurance
You can speak with Simtech confidentially before notifying your current provider.
An initial conversation does not commit you to changing supplier.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Managed IT Support FAQs
What is the difference between IT support and managed IT support?
Basic IT support often focuses on resolving individual faults as they occur.
Managed IT support combines employee assistance with the ongoing administration, monitoring, security, backup and management of the technology environment.
Is support unlimited?
Remote and telephone support for covered users, devices and services is included on an unlimited basis during standard support hours.
Fair-use, supported-technology and service-scope provisions apply.
Projects, planned installations, new hardware deployment and other excluded work are charged separately.
Does every employee need to be included?
The managed service is normally priced according to the number of supported users.
This creates a clear service boundary and ensures every included employee can contact Simtech directly.
Are computers included in the price?
No. Computers and other physical equipment are purchased separately.
The setup and deployment of new equipment is also charged separately unless specifically included in a proposal.
Are Microsoft 365 licences included?
No. Microsoft 365 subscriptions are selected and itemised separately.
This allows each user to receive the most appropriate licence and keeps the managed-service pricing transparent.
Is cybersecurity included?
Yes. Both managed IT plans include core controls such as antivirus, endpoint detection and response, monitoring, patch management and Microsoft 365 SaaS backup.
Additional cybersecurity services are available separately.
Does Simtech provide on-site support?
Yes.
On-site attendance is separately chargeable under Managed IT.
Managed IT Complete includes on-site engineering for covered support incidents where Simtech determines that remote resolution is not practical and the customer is within the agreed service area.
Where is on-site support available?
On-site services are primarily available across Herefordshire and surrounding areas, including parts of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the West Midlands and South Wales.
The exact service boundary is confirmed during quotation.
Can Simtech support businesses outside Herefordshire?
Yes. Remote managed IT support is available across England and Wales.
Most everyday support and administration can be delivered remotely.
Can Simtech replace an internal IT employee?
Yes. Managed IT can replace many of the day-to-day support and administration responsibilities previously handled by an internal employee.
Where the organisation retains an internal IT function, co-managed IT may be more appropriate.
Can you support Apple devices?
Support for Apple or other non-Windows devices should be confirmed during discovery and stated clearly in the proposal.
How long is the agreement?
Managed IT services are provided under a minimum 12-month agreement with automatic renewal, subject to the applicable service terms.
How much does onboarding cost?
Onboarding is normally priced at the equivalent of one month’s managed-service fee.
Additional migration, remediation or project work is quoted separately where necessary.
How quickly can the service begin?
The timetable depends on the number of users, devices and sites, the quality of existing documentation and the cooperation of the current provider.
A proposed onboarding schedule will be provided before commencement.
